The last three days have been very tiring, but oh so rewarding. I have been teaching a web design course with a colleague and the results have been fantastic. I should say, that the site you are on was created using html back in 1998. I did not use any fancy software; I am sure that is evident. But now, I am teaching Dreamweaver, a very powerful piece of software, and the teachers who are creating sites for the first time are doing a great job. I am so please.
Now as far as disappointment........my daughter will be attending college in Italy for the fall semester. I had spoken to some of my superiors about going to Florence to visit her in November. Both were excited for me, one even giving me hotel recommendations and other places I should visit. But I have been denied the leave by my superintendent, who has stated that I would be missing too much school, and that it was not an emergency. I will only be missing 4 days of each class, and in my mind, it is an important thing for me to do. She will be gone nearly 4 months; my husband and I would like to break up her time and visit her. We will not be at Disney World, hanging upside down on a rollercoaster. We will be with my daughter in a foreign country. I can't possibly do that on a long weekend. Plus, I have set up a blog with which to communicate with my classes. I am so bummed....but I am not finished pleading my case........wish me luck.
